I decided to change the name of my blog title cause I felt like why must I hold myself down to one topic when I can rather just blog about whatever I feel like.
I still love food and I will carry on sharing my idea's on food with everyone.
Why I changed my blog title was due to the death of our puppy which we lost on Monday evening. We not sure what was the cause of his death but we surly tried our best to save him.
I was never a dog lover, I'm more for cats but after the experience I had watching our dog Mila give birth to 3 beautiful little boys, I guess the birth just made me all soft inside and to see how beautiful and cuddly they look. So my partner and I gave the puppies names with meanings. Hercules was first and he is the son of Zeus (Really Zeus was the father name). Then came Milo and the last born Leo. They were born in the month of august and 6 days after my partner birthday and her star sign is Leo, so obviously we had to name one of them Leo.
We are blessed to watching them grow up and see what kind of personality they have was amazing cause their names definitely matched them. 4 amazing months so far and it was sad to see Hercules leave us, he had a fighting spirit and always kept his younger brother in line when they misbehave.
What breaks our heart since his passing is that his best friend Leo sitting on top of his grave since we buried him. Knowing that every morning we wake up we wont see his cute droopy eyes by the gate any more .

5 minute Tuna Salad
We all looking for a quick filling dish and if you watching your figure this is perfect for you...
I call it The 5 Minute tuna salad cause it really takes 5 minutes! When it summer nobody likes to be stuck in the kitchen for hours sweating over the stove, so the simple salads are the way to go.
So I had a onion chopped up already which I put in a bowl then I just cut up a tomato in chunks, cut up some Cucumber and a chilli, added my tuna and a few tablespoons of mayo. Don't forget salt and pepper and some lemon juice.
That's it's! (It also cheap for your budget)
You can have your salad with crackers or whole wheat bread your choice...
What you need:
Tuna
Onion's
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Chilli's
Mayo
Salt&Pepper
Lemon juice

Sunday morning french toast
When it Sunday we all like a yummy breakfast to fill us till lunch is ready. This morning I decided to surprise my partner with yummy french toast, which is a family recipe that I learnt from my grandmother who use to make it for me every Sunday morning without fail, well until she told me it was time to make my own.
French goes way back and the recipe was passed on to many of our grand mothers and so on.
Some people like their French toast Sweet, Some others people prefer it spicy (like me).
So for my prep, I had cracked 5 eggs in a bowl, then added half a glass of milk and my spices which include 2 teaspoons of chillie powder, 1 teaspoon of graham, half a teaspoon of jeera powder and salt and pepper (Yes yes it's the Indian in me, i love my spices) oh and a teaspoon of baking powder.
After that was done I got my pan heated with some oil in it when it was hot enough I dipped my bread in the egg batter and put it in the pan to fry, the bread must fry until it is golden brown on both sides.
I let the toast to rest on a towel paper so that all the unwanted oil will be removed and cut in halves and put it on a clean white plate and served with sauces.
What you need:
Eggs
Milk
Baking powder
Salt & Pepper
Spices if you want to make it spicy
Sugar if you prefer it sweet
Oil to fry
It definitely my favorite and a must try!!

Original Potato Salad..
It's a New Year..
So I decided to be original and make a simple Potato salad, Yes yes everybody knows how to make Potato salad but!! There are different ways of making a potato salad, Did you know that??
While I'm typing out this post I got my potato's boiling and I shall got out to my Sister in-law (Megan Silva) house garden to pick up some fresh herbs and some huge yummy spring onion, Which will bring out the flavor of the potato's.
I used 12 potatoes and 8 eggs , Which I had peeled and cut in halves and then wash and put in a pot and to boil with a table spoon of course salt so that it has some flavor once it finished boiled and put my eggs to boil with a teaspoon of vinegar (so that it boils faster) . After the potato's are soft, I strain and add to the serving bowl. Now this is where it gets interesting.... Instead of the basic mayo I'l be using Bulgarian yoghurt. The Bulgarian yoghurt will make it more creamy then mayo, Then add all the herbs, spring onion and some pepper and salt plus a little of rosemary.
Last is the eggs , peel and chop them up and add to the salad. I added 1 chillie just to give it a little kick. After that was done I placed the salad in the fridge until it was time to serve.

Newbie..
Since I am new to the blogging game, I'm doing research on how to make my blog look more exciting and creative.
I know I have a lot to learn and that blogging may seem easy but it actually kind of hard. I woke up excited this morning and couldn't wait to get started with my blog (like a kid on Christmas Morning...)
Determination is my game and I'm here to stay!!!
definitely motivated to look forward to a beautiful 2015.

Lemon and herb penne pasta
Lemon and herb penne pasta...
So I woke one morning with a craving for pasta but something that was healthy but creamy at the same time. I figured let me be creative, So I put my pasta to boil and raided the fridge. I didn't feel like meat cause that was going to take more time. I found some cherry tomatoes which I halved also chopped up some mushrooms and green peppers.
I put my pan on a medium heat added some olive oil about a tbsp full, then added my crushed garlic (cause garlic is yummy). Then I got my mushrooms braising and added my lemon and herb sauce which you can get at any supermarket. then I add the rest of my ingredients but I put my tomatoes last cause I didn't want them to be soft and mushy, add my salt and pepper for that extra bit of taste.
Now once I had that braised put it off, My pasta was ready (strain the pasta).
Time to make my pasta Creamy....
This is my granny secret (Ssssh you didn't hear that from me!)
I got a cup of milk and added to tsp of mazina to it. I grated a bowl of gouda cheese and added it to my milk with a pinch of salt for flavor, Microwave it for a few minutes, I stirred and added it into the pan with rest of the ingredients then put my pasta in with my creamy lemon and herb sauce, I left it on the low heat so that all the pasta could get the yummy sauce on it.
Once it was done I dished it out and put some rocket for that pinch of spicy taste.
I hope you Enjoyed reading my first blog post.
